New Delhi – 12 th January 2008 – Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president & MP Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal extended his good wishes to the people of Delhi on the occasion of the festivals of Lohri and Makar Sankranti.

Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal said the festival of Lohri was one of the most popular festivals celebrated not only in Delhi, but also in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and it was an important festival, particularly of the Punjabi community. He said such festivals foster brotherhood and harmony, and bring people together. He said people celebrate the festival of Lohri with full fervor and while singing songs of the bravery of Dulla Bhatti greet each other and offer them best wishes.

Shri Agarwal said Makar Sankranti is celebrated all over the country by all sections of people, irrespective of caste and creed. He said such festivals solidify human bonds and sends out the message of harmony and togetherness. Shri Agarwal wished bountiful of happiness to the people of Delhi on the auspicious occasion of both Lohri and Makar Sankranti.
