Ram Phal Tyagi is son of Late Shri Khazan Singh Tyagi, who was a freedom fighter, a dedicated congress man, he was a well known personality of Delhi and who was nominated as municipal commissioner of Delhi in 1954 for three years. He had also served as the President of Karol Bagh District Congress Committee.

Ram Phal Tyagi belongs to a traditional Congress family and is very much loyal to Gandhi Family. He has served the party in various capacities. He has always worked for the party in each and every election.

Ram, Phal Tyagi is a leading Industrialist and he is the Chairman of M/s Sunshine Distilleries Pvt. Ltd., Rajasthan as well as the director of M/s Bhagwati Packers Pvt. Ltd. NOIDA (UP) and is also connected with many other companies.

Being the President of All India Tyagi Brahman Samaj (Regd.) and also the President of All India Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sammelan (Regd.) he has a strong hold and influence over the voters of Tyagi Community. A grand function was organised by the All India Tyagi Brahman Samaj (Regd.) on 22/08/2006 under the President ship of Shri Ram Phal Tyagi at FICCI Auditorium, New Delhi that was attended by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Shiela Dikshit ji as the chief guest who was very pleased with the function and its gathering. Many more VIP's also attended this function.

Ram Phal Tyagi has strong dominance over the lakhs of people of Tyagi Community not only in Delhi but also in neighbouring states like UP and Haryana.
